My Weekend

I am spending my weekend doing lots of fun activities! On Saturday morning, I am waking up early and eating a big breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and sausage. My mom is making them for me because it is my favorite. After breakfast, I am getting dressed in my play clothes because I am going to the park with my friends.

At the park, we are playing on the swings and sliding down the big twisty slide over and over again. It is so much fun! We are also kicking a soccer ball around and running after it. Sometimes it goes too far, and we are having to chase it into the bushes. My friend Tommy is laughing because his shoelace is untied, and he is tripping over it while we are playing.

After a couple hours, we are getting hungry, so we are heading back home for lunch. My dad is grilling hamburgers and hot dogs in the backyard. While he is cooking, I am playing catch with my dog Rufus. He is not very good at it though! Every time the ball comes near him, he is trying to bite it instead of catching it with his paws.

For dessert, my mom is baking chocolate chip cookies, and the whole house is smelling amazing! I am helping her by licking the spoon when the batter is all gone from the bowl. Once the cookies are out of the oven, I am eating four of them while they are still warm. So delicious!

In the afternoon, we are all getting into our bathing suits because we are going to my aunt's house to swim in her pool. I am putting on my floaties and jumping in with a huge splash! My little cousin is too scared to jump in, so I am showing her how fun it is by doggy paddling around and blowing bubbles in the water. Finally, she is getting in too, and we are having a great time splashing each other.

After swimming for a while, we are getting out to eat popsicles and lie in the sun to get dry. I am putting on sunscreen so I don't get sunburned. My uncle is firing up the grill again to make barbecue chicken and corn on the cob for dinner. It is smelling so good!

When it gets dark, I am catching fireflies in a jar and watching them glow. My cousin and I are using them like lanterns to find our way around the backyard. We are pretending to be explorers looking for treasure until our moms are calling us inside for bed.

I am sleeping over at my aunt's house, and we are having a fun slumber party! We are telling ghost stories with the flashlight, eating popcorn and candy, and staying up way too late. Even though I am getting a little tired, I am having too much fun to want to go to sleep yet.

The next morning, I am waking up and my aunt is making us pancakes for breakfast again. My cousin and I are going outside to play one last game of catch before my parents are coming to pick me up and take me home. We are throwing the ball back and forth and seeing who can run and catch it from the farthest distance. I am winning because I am a little bigger and can throw it harder.

On the car ride home, I am feeling sleepy from such a busy and fun weekend. I am looking out the window at the clouds and making pictures out of their shapes in my mind. A nap sounds really nice! When we are getting home, I am giving my dog Rufus a huge hug because I missed him while I was gone.

For the rest of Sunday, I am just relaxing around the house in my pajamas. I am reading comic books, playing video games, and watching movies while cuddling on the couch. My mom is making macaroni and cheese for an easy dinner. I am eating four big bowls of it because it is one of my favorites!

Finally, it is time for bed, and I am putting on my favorite racecar pajamas to get ready to go to sleep. I had such an awesome weekend full of so many fun activities! I can't wait to tell my friends all about my adventures when I get to school tomorrow. But for now, I am closing my eyes and dreaming about all the good times, excited to do it all over again next weekend.
