I bought a jasmine(茉莉) plant for my office. When I bought it, I was told it would bloom(开花) and the sweet smell would fill my office. I had the plant for two months, and every day I looked at it, but there weren't any flowers or pleasant smell. I was not happy, so I gave the plant to my friend Linda.
One day, another friend Mary called and invited me to her office. When I walked in, her jasmine flowers surprised me. I reached out to touch the flowers. Mary cut some and gave them to
me. I couldn't help smelling them. Surrounded(包围) by the sweet smell of only a handful of these flowers, I suddenly understood something
Mary bought her plant the same time I did. It took a year for her jasmine to bloom. I was so impatient for mine to bloom. Regretfully, I gave it away.
In a way my life is like the jasmine plan. I need to be patient and let things happen.
Last Sunday Linda told me that she was going abroad the next week. Before she left, she returned the plant to me. This time I am going to wait. I have learned that when we want something in our life, we have to be patient. I am slowly learning to have that patience to wait for my jasmine to bloom.

It's not easy growing up. Growing up can be a real \"pain\" for some of us. We are always doing things that someone else makes us do and aren't allowed to do all the things we like. Sometimes we feel sad, sometimes we are afraid, and sometimes we just don't understand why we can't stay young forever. But we should take a look back on all the hard periods in life with a positive attitude(积极的态度)and learn from them. We should realize that all of our growing pains actually turn into growing gains.
Throughout our lives we are going to face many challenges and pains, but we should never let these obstacles keep us from following cur dreams. We must overcome every obstacle one small step at a time.
As a young girl, my parents forced me to do so many things that I didn't like. They made me learn to play the violin and then the piano. At that time I hated music and I also hated them. But looking back now, I am so glad that my parents encouraged me to take music lessons. Music has enriched(丰富) my life in so many ways, I now realize that my parents and teachers wanted me to have a better life than they did themselves.
We are all going to experience growing pains, but they are just part of our life. Think about how we would feel if we had no challenges and lived a life like that. Life would be really boring and meaningless, The future is ours! A little hard work and sweat(汗水) never hurt anyone! If we realize that these pains are just small bumps(碰撞) on our road to success, we will realize that our growing pains are actually growing gains!
52, When we take a look back on all the hard periods in life, we should ________. A. get afraid of them B. pay no attention to them C. learn from them D. feel sad about them

One day, I was writing another quote on the fence and the old man, one of my neighbors, who owned the fence, saw me. He came out and I was afraid he would be mad at me for writing on his fence; he was not known to be very friendly. He gave me a sharp glance and then read the quotes on the fence. Without saying a word. he said something to himself and then went back inside. I was a bit terrified for a while, afraid to go back to the fence, but when I did, I noticed not more quotes but two words in entirely different handwriting had been added, “Thank you.”
Later, I saw the old man in his front yard. He beckoned(召唤)me over and told me how my quotes had been inspiring him, how he thanked me and how he was glad to see young people still have \"values\". We are now good friends and I talk to him a lot. This experience has changed my life. I still don't know who wrote that very first quote, but if he is out there, I'd like to say \"thanks\" to that unknown friend.
