摘要：A pneumatically operated vane-type motor for driving medical or dentalhandpieces. A housing forms a rotor chamber in which a rotor is mounted, the rotorhaving axial slots in which radially moveable vanes are housed. An adjustment ring ispositioned between the inner surface of the housing and the outer ends of the vanes, andis moveable to adjust the speed and torque characteristics of the rotor without requiringadjustment in the compressed air supply. To this end, the adjustment ring has a

cylindrical outer surface engaging the inner surface of the housing, and a cylindrical innersurface towards which the vanes extend. The axes of the inner and outer surfaces of theadjustment ring are spaced-apart.
