About one year ago, with the same dream and the same desires, we had come together from different provinces of the country. Facing innumerable strange faces, I realized that I’ve been a college student, a student who just started in society and a big child who should have known how to take care of herself. It seems like a routine that almost all the college students in China are required to take military training at the beginning of their college life.

Towards this condition, opinions vary from person to person. Some people believe that the training is necessary and beneficial for the following reasons. Firstly, it can not only strengthen student’s bodies but also forge their stamina and perseverance. Secondly, students can develop their sense of discipline through the training. On the contrary, others hold the opposite view. They consider that just a short time of training can neither build up the bodies nor strengthen the backbones of college students. They argue that more attention should be paid to the daily exercise and activities. Moreover, they suggest that the training should be voluntary not compulsory. Before participating in the training, students should be allowed to choose what they are really interested in. They must take a medical and physical test. If passed, they can start it. As a college student, I agree to the former opinion. Military training can really make a great impact both in the physical and metal health of students. It is also an effective way to arouse their patriotism. At the meantime, measures should be taken seriously to ensure the safety of students during military training. Actually, military training is a process which intends to establish and improve

different capabilities of college students. What’s more, going through the military training, we learned to be quiet, to think, to be calm and determined. The most important thing is to live each day well in our later college life.
